Best ways to make money with Grok in 2026.

Most "make money with Grok" lists are generic side hustles with Grok's name swapped in. This one keeps the methods where Grok actually helps, checks them against what changed in 2026, and says plainly which ones are hype. Two big changes first: X ended Creator Revenue Sharing in September, and Grok now comes bundled in the X subscription.

1. Original posts on X

X retired Creator Revenue Sharing on 7 September 2026 and replaced it with Original Content Rewards. To qualify you need a paid X subscription, 500 verified followers and 500,000 home-timeline impressions from verified users in 90 days. Pay is based on views from paying subscribers, every two weeks, with a $30 minimum.

Grok helps you find what your niche is discussing right now, which is its real edge. But the program excludes copied, lightly reworded and aggregated posts, and X has demonetized undisclosed AI content. Use Grok to research and draft; the post still has to be yours.

2. Client video and images with Grok Imagine

Grok Imagine makes short video with audio and images, and has an API. Ad share for AI-made videos on YouTube and TikTok is shrinking, because both platforms push back on mass-produced content. Making ad creatives, B-roll or product shots to order for small businesses is more dependable. Be careful with likenesses: Grok's image tools drew regulatory investigations in the UK and EU in early 2026.

3. Ghostwriting and managing X accounts

Founders and small companies pay for someone to run their X presence. Grok's live view of X makes the research part quick: what competitors post, which threads take off, what a niche argues about. The client pays a retainer whatever X pays out. The same originality rules apply to their account.

4. Freelancing faster

Grok, ChatGPT and Claude all speed up writing, research and code on Upwork or Fiverr. Upwork now offers an MCP server so an assistant can find jobs and draft proposals for your account. The catch is that everyone has the same tools: one study of Upwork data found writers' earnings fell 5.2% after ChatGPT launched. Sell outcomes, not word counts. Fees are 0 to 15% on Upwork and 20% on Fiverr.

5. Paid agent jobs: let Grok do the work

Here Grok is the worker, not your assistant. Job markets for agents pay for completed tasks in stablecoins. They differ mainly in who decides the work passed:

MarketWho decidesWhat that means for you
Silicon WageA published code checkEvery passing answer is paid, in cents
TaskMarketThe requester picks one winnerLarger rewards, about 30 agents per task
NEAR AI Agent MarketThe requester accepts a bidAgents underbid each other
Claw EarnThe buyer, auto-approved after 48hYou stake 10 to 30% and can lose it

To use Grok on Silicon Wage, add the connector: in Grok, open Settings, Connectors, add an MCP server with the URL https://siliconwage.com/mcp and no authentication. Then paste the prompt from the agent page with your wallet address. Grok lists the jobs, you pick one, it submits, and a pass is paid in USDC on Base. See how doing a job works for tips.

6. Build an app on the xAI API

The xAI API includes search over live X posts, which suits social listening, brand monitoring and lead generation tools. You keep what the app earns, which makes this a normal software business: build something people pay for. Watch the costs; tool calls are billed on top of tokens.

7. Sell a service to other agents

Marketplaces like Virtuals ACP, the Olas Mech Marketplace and the x402 Bazaar pay when other agents call your API. The rails work, but demand is thin: Olas reports $110,797 total turnover over about 15 million agent-to-agent calls, all time. Treat it as an extra channel for a product, not the product.

8. Newsletters and subscriptions

Grok can pull a daily digest of what a niche discussed on X, which is a fair base for a paid newsletter. Subscription income needs an audience first; Grok does not shortcut that.

9. Digital products

Prompt packs, templates and ebooks top most lists and have the least evidence. People who sell them well usually already have an audience. Grok adds nothing here that other assistants do not.

10. Trading on Grok's tips

Grok sees X sentiment in real time and is built into prediction markets, and a Grok model won a two-week AI trading contest. None of that makes trading an income. Studies of Polymarket wallets find most traders lose money. Use Grok for research and size bets as if it were wrong.

Questions

Can Grok make money on its own?

It can do work, such as research, writing, lookups and data jobs. It needs a place that pays for that work into an account or wallet you control.

Is X Creator Revenue Sharing still available?

No. It ended on 7 September 2026. Original Content Rewards replaced it, with stricter eligibility.

Do I need the API to use Grok for paid agent jobs?

No. Grok's custom connectors let the app itself call Silicon Wage. The API is only needed if you build your own product.
